SPLASH
From CFD-Wiki
South Bay Simulations develops and licences SPLASH nonlinear free-surface flow simulation software. The company offers engineering services utilising SPLASH and other types of methodologies for aerodynamic and hydrodynamic design and analysis, specializing in hull and appendage design for Grand Prix race yachts. SPLASH free-surface flow simulation software solves a variety of steady and unsteady (frequency domain) free-surface flows relating to sailing yachts, ships, submarines, and other types of marine vehicles. Emphasis is on problems where the waves at the air/water interface of of paramount importance. South Bay Simulations has 10 years of experience providing America's Cup syndicates and IMS yacht designers with hydrodynamic flow information and hydrodynamic performance predictions. Other studies have used SPLASH to predict unsteady loads on oil tankers, Kelvin wake structures of ships and submarines, and even aircraft flows.
