Ernst Mach (1838-1916) worked and lived in Austria and the Czech repulic. He made many contributions to science and was once credited by Albert Einstein for being a forerunner for the theory of relativity. In the fluid dynamics community Ernst Mach is most well known for giving name to the dimensionless parameter Mach number
