Multiple M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoctoral Positions in Hydrogen Combustion Research We are pleased to announce the opening of several M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoctoral positions as part of the multi-institutional project, “High Pressure Hydrogen Micromix Combustion for Gas Turbines”. This exciting initiative, funded by Siemens Energy Canada, CRIAQ, and NSERC, focuses on cutting-edge research in hydrogen combustion, both numerically and experimentally. Positions are available in the laboratories of Jeffrey Bergthorson (McGill University), Swetaprovo Chaudhuri (University of Toronto), Étienne Robert (Polytechnique Montréal), and Bruno Savard (Polytechnique Montréal). The project aims to analyze and model flame stability and emissions generated by an innovative hydrogen injection system designed for gas turbines. The findings from this research will contribute significantly to the development of gas turbines powered entirely by hydrogen, with applications in the aerospace and energy sectors. We are offering positions in the following areas: - Chemical kinetics in laminar flames - Turbulent flame stability and NOx emissions - Experiments and laser diagnostics with turbulent flames - Direct numerical simulation of turbulent flames - Turbulence-chemistry interaction modelling for large-eddy simulation Candidates from underrepresented groups in engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.
